Description

This database contains occurrence information of two groups of native species: (1) bryophytes collected and animal species in southern Chile between 2016 and 2018 (organized by Valentina Riffo), and camera-trap data of birds and small mammals gathered in southern Chile between 2017 and 2018 (organized by Gloria Rodriguez).

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 960 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Versions

The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Sampling Methods

This database is based on two sampling approaches: sample collecting and camera-trap monitoring.

Study Extent We have 12 sampling sites in southern Chile, between southern Bio Bio region up to the Palena Province (Los Lagos region).

Method step description:

  1. (1) Bryophyte sampling in the field, during three consecutive years we sampled bryophytes at the Valdivian Coastal Reserve, contrasting different habitat types (primary and secondary forests, abandoned exotic plantations, and clearcut areas). (2) Camera traps. Camera-trap monitoring was conducted using infrared cameras at 12 sites between the Bio Bio and Los Lagos regions.
