This dataset includes occurrences of the limpet genus Nacella across its distribution in the Southern Ocean, compiled from published data and material (specimens and nucleic acids) associated with the Laboratorio de Genómica y Ecología Molecular Antártica y Sub-Antártica (LAGEMAS) and the Millennium Institute BASE.
Our aim is to provide a comprehensive description of the geographic distribution of the genus Nacella to enhance the understanding of marine biodiversity at higher latitudes
Data Records
The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 264 records.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Project Data
This data aims to provide a comprehensive description of the geographic distribution of the genus of true limpets Nacella across its distribution in different provinces of the Southern Ocean. This data set was developed as part of the doctorate research, as well a several projects of the main researcher Dr. Claudio González-Wevar. The objectives is to publish records of the true limpet genus Nacella for public domain in order to contribute to the knowledge of marine biodiversity at higher latitudes.
